What are you presenting at Pleasant Prairie Mini Maker Faire?
The enjoyment of making something by hand that is both useful and beautiful. Sewing a quilt is just series of small simple steps.
What inspires you to make?
Fabric. Soooooo much fabric. There is so much beautiful fabric available now that I just have to play with it.
What project have you made that you are proud of, and why?
My Fire and Ice quilt. It was made as a mystery quilt. Over a period of 6 weeks you’re given clues to complete without knowing what the final result will be. It is the first quilt I entered to be judged and I won a third place ribbon.
What tips or advice would you give someone who want to become a Maker?
Just research and ask questions. There plenty of people happy to share their knowledge.
Tell us about one of your failed projects.
You mean my Ph,d’s or Projects Half Done? I don’t consider them failures, but more that they just weren’t that into me. I’ll come back to them at some point. Just because I wasn’t in love with them doesn’t mean someone else won’t love them.
